Teachers’ Qualifications?

What are the qualifications of your teachers and staff?

Our ministry is staffed entirely by volunteers at all levels, including all our teachers, curriculum writers, and our Board leadership

Regarding our teachers' qualifications, all are self-taught having gained their understanding of Scripture over many years of study under the direction of the Holy Spirit and the counsel and guidance of godly men and mentors. Each teacher spends many hours in daily personal study of Scripture, in learning the accepted techniques for proper interpretation of Biblical texts in context, and in the construction and delivery of teaching (e.g., hermeneutics, homiletics, language studies, church history, etc.).

Every VBVM teacher's training is forever ongoing, as we believe teachers of God's word are students themselves, therefore they must remaining teachable by the Spirit and accountable to their peers.  In fact, all VBVM teachers are expected to spend significant time in preparation for each teaching, averaging a 6:1 ratio of preparation time to delivery time. All teaching is reviewed by Board members, and teachers are corrected as needed to ensure a consistent and accurate library of teaching.

Finally, our ministry prefers to minimize the personal attention and recognition given to the men and women delivering our teaching material. While they deserve credit for their hard work in dividing the word rightly, they prefer to receive that credit in the moment of their judgment before the Lord rather from the praises of men.  As Jesus Himself taught:

Luke 17:10 “So you too, when you do all the things which are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’”
