Bible Answer

Is Jesus really the Father?

I believe Jesus is the Father...is this true?

Your belief is false because it contradicts the Scripture's teaching concerning the Godhead and the Son of Man, Jesus Christ. The clear testimony of Scripture is that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (not the Father Himself) and was sent by the Father to die for the sins of humanity.

At the same time, Jesus testifies that He is One with God the Father, meaning He is the Creator God Himself. Both of these truths stand side-by-side in Scripture, and though they seem contradictory to us, the Bible calls upon us to accept both statements as true despite our inability to reconcile them.

Before doubting the truth of the trinity, we must remember the words of Scripture concerning those who deny the three Persons of the Godhead:

Luke 10:16 “ The one who listens to you listens to Me, and the one who rejects you rejects Me; and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.”

1John 2:22 Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.
1John 2:23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.
