As a teenager growing up, my parents frequently complained about my need for instant gratification. They counseled me on the importance of self-discipline and delayed satisfaction, and they warned of the dangers of imprudence and impatience. Naturally, I responded the way every teenager does...I ignored my parents and took (nearly) every opportunity to indulge my flesh. Such are the hard lessons of youth.

It should come as no shock to anyone that Yeshua was not the original "Gingerbread Man" and was not actually made of bread. In John 6 He was using a metaphor to illustrate His point: just as physical manna fell from heaven and provided physical sustenance to the Isra'elites, so also the spiritual manna (Yeshua) came from heaven to provide spiritual sustenance to the Isra'elites.
